Recently I’ve stopped using shampoo. No I’m not gross, I’m using Wen products. But now I have to figure out what to do with all of my left over partially finished shampoo bottles. As mentioned in a recent blog post, I have a problem where I buy too much of one kind of product when things are on sale… thus I have more than five shampoo bottles under my sink waiting to be used.
Here are some alternative uses for shampoo (that also apply to body washes, except for the first one) to help you get rid of this product build up.
- Use shampoo as body wash! If it can clean your hair, it will clean your body.
- Fill up your pretty soap bottle in the bathroom or kitchen with shampoo or body wash instead. Often times you can buy a generic large shampoo bottle for $1, which is cheaper then soap! I’ve been using shampoo as soap in my bathroom for years and no one has noticed.
- Shampoo is perfect for cleaning up your makeup brushes. See how I do it here.
- Spot clean stains before they go in the wash. Rub a little with water on a spot and let it sink in before you put it in the washer.
