DIY New Year Positivity Jar

New year positivity jar

Happy New Year! Today I’ll be sharing with you this quick DIY for your very own positivity jar, something I think everyone should have in 2013. Writing down things that make you happy will not only help keep you happy in that moment but will also help you keep a more positive outlook throughout the year, something I think a lot more people need.

I saw on Pinterest a lot of ideas for a positivity jar so I thought I would make my own to help keep 2013 as bright as it can be. All I did was clean a pasta sauce jar and fill some of it with some baby’s breath. You don’t have to fill yours will baby’s breath but for me it added to the positivity since it reminded me of my upcoming wedding. You can leave your jar empty for now or put in something small that makes you happy. You could also make a pretty graphic to cover or label the jar but I wanted mine to be more plain.

Then, as the days go on add in your favorite memories or happy moments. I chose to fold my note so that the pretty paper and the letters showed rather then folding my note inward to hide the letting. As the jar gets fuller, it will look more colorful. I think seeing some of the letters will make me happier because then it wont just look like a jar of paper.

I christened my jar by adding in something I was really happy about at midnight, having Chris as my New Year kiss.  This is our eighth New Year together. I couldn’t be more grateful.

I’m working on finishing up my post summarizing the year and will share that with you all later on. I hope you had a fantastic night and hope the best for you in the coming year.
