In my Valentine’s Day Buy & DIY gift guide I showed you some chocolate covered strawberries from Shari’s Berries (c/o). Here I have a second post showing them in more detail and explaining the experience. I was really excited to be able to try out their service and they have offered you guys a discount on their Valentine’s Day packages. Check it out here.
Isn’t the bow on the packaging a nice touch? I made sure to save mine for a future DIY.
When the strawberries arrived they were in a special insulated packing box that also had ice packs inside, keeping the chocolate perfectly cooled. They didn’t melt at all in shipping. I ate one and gave another away and then put them in the fridge overnight. They tasted just as good in the morning. I was told that the strawberries keep for about three days after arriving so you have some time if you are having them delivered to you rather than your honey.
The most delicious of the three varieties was the white chocolate. Although the chocolate was a thick layer the strawberries were still surprisingly large and juicy. I notice a lot of brands use small strawberries and then large amounts of chocolate but this was a good balance.
Chocolate covered strawberries make a great gift around Valentine’s Day. I’m a big believer in food gifts! If you need some more gift inspiration, make sure to check out yesterday’s post.
