Lately I’ve been enjoy a simpler “foundation” routine comprised of three products (technically four). It takes me only five minutes to do and I know it is beneficial to my skin because of the added skin benefits of the BB creams. BB (Beauty Balm or Blemish Balm) creams generally have more skincare like properties and are supposed to replace (in most cases) a moisturizer (though I still apply one), a primer (I still use one), foundation, concealer, and SPF.
For my particular skin I always need a primer. My makeup will look cakey no matter what I do if I don’t apply a primer. For that reason I use theBalm’s Time Balm (c/o). My skin isn’t very picky about primer so I can’t say whether I’d recommend a cheaper one over a high end.
Then I apply a combination of the Dr. Jart Water Fuse BB Cream (Review) and the Physician’s Formula Super BB Cream (Review). I want a little more coverage than I get in the Water Fuse and I want less coverage and more skincare benefits than in the Super BB… thus I combine!
See how in this video:
As part of my Learning to Live Minimally resolution I won’t be buying any foundation (I can’t remember the last time I used one) or BB cream until I’ve finished all of the BB cream I have now and all of my concealers (I have three of them currently). Once I’m done with these BB creams I plan on using my concealer as a “foundation” until I finish those up and then after all of that I will be hopefully trying out the Dr. Jart Black Label BB Cream. It seems so interesting! It is going to take a long time to get to it but I’m eagerly looking forward to it!
So that is my easy natural looking BB cream routine.
