DIY All Natural Skincare Routine

When being more natural is easy, I jump on board! When I started finishing up all of my skincare products I started experimenting with this all natural DIY routine using only two ingredients: Coconut Oil and oats/oatmeal.

Instructions:

  1. Splash your face with some water then gently massage your face with coconut oil to break away the makeup from your skin. 
  2. Rinse and repeat.
  3. Put a small amount of oats on your hand and saturate it with water to make it more “mushy.”
  4. Massage on face (while leaning over the sink so oats wont fall on the floor) in circular motions, don’t get too close to the eyes.
  5. Rinse and apply a small amount of coconut oil to moisturize.
  6. Apply some of the oil onto your eyelashes and eyebrows to condition and help repair damage from makeup products like mascara and brow gel.

My skintype is normal to dry with sensitivity. I used to have a lot of cystic acne but it has gone away with age. I do still occasionally get a blemish here or there and then I’ll substitute my cleanser with the X Out Wash In Treatment (c/o) about two-three times a week until the blemish is gone.

I used to suffer from Eczema but using coconut oil and sometimes extra virgin olive oil after I shower has cured it.

    How long did you need to use the coconut oil before the eczema got better?
    Really want to try this.

      I believe the olive oil was a little more helpful than the coconut oil for my eczema since it feels more moisturizing. Coconut oil had more of a lighter feel. I don’t remember the exact timeline as it’s been a few years since I’ve had a flare up but since I had rashes all over my body at the time I believe it must have taken at least two months. Make sure to also check your body wash to make sure it has no fragrance/parfum and is free of sulfates. Those two in particular can aggravate the skin. The current gentle body wash I use is from The Honest Company but one from Burt’s Bees or Yes to Carrots may also be good for you to try and are more easily accessible.

    Hello, I love using natural ingredients on my face but I can’t find a skincare routine that makes my skin better, but I really would like to try this routine. Do you do that once or twice a day ? ( I’m from France, I expect that you can understand what I write ! )
