This Month’s Audible Pick – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

Audible Recommendations August
Hi Kind Friends! This month I wanted a lighter “read” on Audible so I started searching for a non-dystopian or magic based fiction. That was all I read for so long! I did the same thing last month and eded up reading #GirlBoss. I highly recommend it! Hopefully I’ll do a more in depth review soon but for now just know that it is amazing. Although I do think it would be better as a physical read than a listen, just so you know.

Anyway, I got sidetracked. This month I ended up with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han and narrated by Laura Knight Keating. It’s the story of Lara Jean, a girl whose secret high school love letters gets accidentally sent out for the boys in question to read.

I’m about 45 minutes in (of the 8 and a half hour book) and so far it’s been mostly background info. I can’t wait to get into the juice of the plot. I’ll make sure to update this post once I’ve completed the book.

My initial impressions thus far are very positive. It’s exactly what I was looking for as an end of the Summer positive romantic story. I didn’t want to read anything too stressful.

I’d also like to mention that I started reading a new physical book this month. The novel Uglies by Scott Westfield is free on Wattpad! Keep up with my Wattpad account for additional reads and for my poetry updates.

UPDATE: Overall the book was very enjoyable. There was two sets of love triangles, one between Lara Jean and two boys and the other between Lara Jean, her sister, and her sister’s ex. My shipped pair ended up getting together which made me incredibly happy. The drama level was just right. So many books can really overdue it on romantic drama. However, I do think they dropped the love letter aspect too quickly. Some of the people that she sent letters to were only mentioned once or twice as if it wasn’t a big deal. It was an oversight in my opinion but I can see why they weren’t elaborated on at the same time. It would have made the book way too long if everyone had their own chapter.

If you are reading this, let me know in the comments what you are currently reading! I’d love to know.
