Join the Kind Counsel on Patreon!

Hi Kind Friends!

Today I’m excited to invite you to the Kind Counsel! Dun dun dunnnnn….

AKA I created a Patreon page. If you haven’t heard of it yet, it’s similar to crowd funding softwares like Kickstarter except instead you are funding content creators. Some people use the platform for monthly contributions (like me for $1 or more a month) and other people ask for funding on a video by video basis (like one of my favorites Callie Crofts and her Brain Log videos for $1 or more per video).

Before I get into more on this, I want to stress that I am by no means begging for money. This is just a way to expand my content and gain some more Kind Friends. None of the money will be used for personal means.

Here are some more details, copied directly from my Patreon page.

Who are you?
My name is Rebecca Kelsey Sampson (soon to be Mrs. Cortes!) and I’ve been a regular online content creator since 2010 on my blog and YouTube channel. I started off just talking about beauty topics but since then have expanded into a lifestyle blog and channel that covers a wide range of topics. My goal has always been to live a kind and fulfilling life while encouraging others to do the same. I hope to motivate my subscribers to stay true to themselves, it really is the most important magic.

What is Patreon?
Patreon is basically like Kickstarter but rather than supporting just one project, you are supporting ongoing projects. This helps content creator’s like myself put out regular content without as much added pressures. No matter what you pledge, it helps out! By pledging to my page, you become a “Patron” of my content! Thank you.

How will the money be used?
The money generated from Patreon will help fund my videos and content, it won’t be going into my pocket. Some examples include; buying YouTube ads, Google/Twitter/Facebook ads, monthly giveaways, new camera equipment, hiring contributors on my second blog Elephants Remember Love, an outfit photographer for my blog, getting help managing a future mailing list, etc. Unless a life changing emergency situation presents itself, this money will not be used for personal needs in any way.

Will your content still be free?
Of course! I never intend to charge people to view my content. Being my Patron is like tipping a restaurant server for doing a good job. You are tipping me and with those tips I’ll work on improving my content. If you can’t afford to be a Patron, I will treat you no differently. All of the milestone goals at the left side of my Patreon page will be available to all of my Kind Friends, whether you are a Patron or not. Only the rewards listed in the bottom of my Patreon page will be exclusive to my Patrons.

I can’t afford to be a Patron right now, is that okay?
Of course it is! It would be really rude of me to be upset at someone just because they couldn’t afford to be a Patron. That would be ridiculous.

I still want to help you though, I just can’t afford to…
I really appreciate that thought! If you can’t afford to become a Patron, I completely understand. If you still want to help out though, I would appreciate that you share my videos and blog posts when they are posted. Every view on my blog and videos helps me so sharing my content is really appreciated.

Thank you for being a Kind Friend to me and for reading this page. I hope to talk to you soon.
