Our Unconventional Date Night

date night

Hi Kind Friends!

Last weekend Chris and I celebrated my birthday early. As I’ve mentioned a million times the past few weeks, I’ll be 25 on the 25th. We spent the whole day out having fun! Here is the run down of our unconventional date night.

We started the day sleeping in and then driving to his parent’s house for lunch. They’ll be moving soon so we come over once a week to help them pack. At least that’s what we are supposed to be doing, we generally end up eating and watching a movie together instead. On this occasion we had pizza and watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Man I forgot how funny that movie is!

Since Chris’ parents overfeed us (that tends to happen a lot), we skipped our original dinner plans. We were going to go to either the Olive Garden (I’m just obsessed with them) or a new restaurant called Finka.

Since we skipped dinner, we drove to the main event. I had decided that we were going to go ice skating for my birthday but somehow when researching ice skating rinks near by, we ended up mistaking a roller rink for an ice skating rink. We didn’t realize our mistake until we bought our tickets at Super Wheels and walked inside. Oh well! Side note, I had my first kiss in 8th grade at this roller rink.

We got our skate rentals and alternated with rollerblading and playing at the arcade. I think it ended up being more fun then ice skating would have been. I had a surprisingly easy time rollerblading despite not doing it for probably eight years or more. The same could not be said for Chris, he looked adorable waddling around.

Leaving the rink we drove straight to Yogurtland and enjoyed some delicious froyo. Afterward I decided I didn’t want to go home yet so we drove to Ulta and Chris helped me pick out some of the makeup products I’m going to use at the wedding. For some refreshments we went to Total Wine (I picked a Pina Colada, see a virgin version of my drink) for tonights Doctor Who marathon. The new season starts on Saturday!

So that was the end of our evening. It didn’t happen at all like planned but we had a great time.

My favorite date night wasn’t actually a date night but rather Chris and I’s first vacation together. We hadn’t been able to spend much time together truly alone until that time.
