#DearMe – A Letter To My 16 Year Old Self

A letter to my teenaged self based on the #DearMe YouTube movement.

You are feeling kind of lost right now. I understand feeling lost more than you can imagine. Being a teenager is hard in and of itself and the fact that adults are trying to pressure you into committing to a life path, at such a young age, is not fair. Trust me you are not the only one that doesn’t have it all figured out – no matter what anyone else says.

Don’t worry too much about choosing the perfect major, having backup plans to your backup plans, or making a ton of money. If you believe in yourself you will find your way, even if it doesn’t always feel like it. The twists and turns you are going to experience will only make you stronger. Focus on your love, friendships, and creativity to get you through. It never fails.

The future is not set. Keep dreaming. You’re going to end up being a part of some cool adventures.

PS You are going to marry that really cute guy you met freshman year. Yeah, I know – It’s awesome.
