Hello July

Hello July, please be good.

Wow guys, June was hectic! In an exciting turn of events I’ve started two new jobs. I’m still getting used to how this is changing my schedule and how to work these jobs around my family obligations and interests so that is going to be my main focus for this coming month, with one exception. Remember last November when I participated in NaNoWriMo? Well, this July they are having a similar event called Camp NaNoWriMo that I am going to be participating in.

But first, let’s talk about my June goals. This is what I had planned…

  1. Only buy the essentials
  2. Finish writing my e-book
  3. Write and/or read for at least one hour a day
  4. Re-start my poetry YouTube channel

On points 1 and 3, I did great. Chris and I did have a few dates during the month but other than that the spending was down. Writing every day wasn’t a problem either, except I felt like the time I spent writing was more for work and not for pleasure. That is definitely going to change in July.

I did not restart my poetry channel but I did make some plans for it, which I discuss in this new video. I also started my e-book but it is nowhere near done.

For July, I have the following goals.

  1. Camp NaNoWriMo – 50,000 words
  2. Create a landing page
  3. Focus on adjusting to my new routine

Since I am getting into a whole new schedule, I need to let myself have an adjustment period.

For Camp NaNoWriMo I decided to choose a 50,000 word goal because that was a lot of fun to do during my wedding month. I’m focusing these goals between three different projects; my e-book, poetry novel, and fanfiction. Yeah, I know. Fanfiction? I just wanted to try it because it is seriously my favorite thing to read when I’m stressed.

I have the first few chapters of my poetry novel up now and I’d love your feedback on it.

As for the landing page, more on that will be coming soon.

What goals do you have for July?

I think goals are a great way to stay on tab of what you really want to accomplish.
