DIY Stylish Organization and Desk Accessories – Work from Home and Back to School Cute Desk Spaces

DIY Office Accessories

Since I work from home, having a cute office space is essential to me. I do not want to feel like I am in a uniform cubicle. If you feel the same, check out a few of my cute DIY projects below as well as my DIY compendium for all of my past projects.

All instructions and examples are shown in the video above.

DIY #1: Picture Frame Whiteboard

  1. Measure a decorative paper to fit the inside of a frame
  2. Put the paper inside the frame
  3. Hang on the wall and write on the glass using a whiteboard marker

DIY #2: Pencil/Marker Holder

  1. Clean out an old candle (I freeze my old candles and then the excess wax pops right out)
  2. Fill with pennies, beads, or other decorative item as a filler to keep your items upright

DIY #3: Washi Tape Keyboard

  1. Cut washi tape to size
  2. Cover select keys
  3. Take off and change colors to match the season or your mood

DIY #4: Glitter Magnets

  1. Cover old ugly magnets with glitter washi tape (or glue and glitter of choice)
  2. That’s it!

  2. Tape a motivational message on top or create a collage of your favorite images, print, and tape on

DIY #5: Custom Mouse Pads

  1. Just use a notebook!

DIY #6: Pretty Wall Space

  1. Create a DIY photo clothesline
  2. Tape cute motivational sayings or photos that inspire you
  3. Hang up a clip board and interchange images that make you happy
  4. Clean your space weekly!

My Stationary Essentials:

  1. Day Designer planner – I can’t live without it!
  2. Jill Bliss Post It notes
  3. Rifle Paper Co notebooks
  4. Stripped folder and other small accessories (keep an eye on the Target dollar section)
  5. Cute motivational messages from A Beautiful Mess

Most of these DIY projects were so easy that they take less than five minutes. You just need to think a little out of the box.

    Hi Rebecca,

    1) I love your diys! Your space looks beautiful! Very inspiring.

    2) You’ve probably seen them already, but have you watched the tons of filofax/faux filo planner videos on Youtube? It’s a step up in commitment from a traditional, paper planner, but after getting addicted to the videos I was inspired to diy my entire planner (including formatting my own pages), and not only is it a great creative outlet, but I’ve stayed incredibly organized the past year and a half, if only because I love flipping through my planner so much I do it about 10 times a day! Just something you might enjoy checking out :)

Thanks Rowan! I’ve heard of filofax but I haven’t seen the videos for them specifically. Most of the people I follow use Erin Condren. I’d love to see your DIY planner! Can you send it to me on Twitter or Facebook? It sounds awesome.

These are actually all such good ideas, I think my fave is the whiteboard picture frame though. I love how your office space looks!
