Just in case you haven’t noticed, I’m here to tell you that I have been obsessed with reading this month. Reading turns Muggles into magic wielders, takes us on adventures, helps us escape tough situations, and brings dreams to life. I’m deep diving in books!
I’m going to actually be posting exclusive book videos on my YouTube channel that won’t be showing up on my blog so make sure you have subscribed there as well. Additionally, my book videos are being brought to you by the Audible affiliate program. Grab a free book on me using audibletrial.com/rebecca!
Since I’ve purchased some new books recently, I was running out of space. So I completely reorganized my book shelf to be a rainbow book order. If you’ve never seen this before, you basically organize your books by the color of their spine so that all together the spines of the books resemble a rainbow.
Having trouble remembering the rainbow? Remember Mr. Roy G. Biv
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
Apparently I have a lot of brown and black books so I added those last. Alternatively you could also do a general ombre like blue to pink.
- Looking at the rainbow books makes me happy
- It was a fun creative organization project
- You have to memorize your books by color rather than searching by genre or alphabetical order
- It takes up a lot of space since none of the books can be stacked horizontally
Well, that wasn’t as many pros and cons as I thought I would come up with! Oddly, remembering books by their cover color hasn’t been that difficult since I’m a visual learner.
I remember in open book tests in college I would look up an answer by visualizing how far down the page I read about that fact. Have you ever done anything like that?
Watch me reorganize my books in the time-lapse below:
Would you ever give rainbow order a chance? Or is it just too impractical for you?
Let me know which one you choose in the comments below.
