Writing a Novel in a Month – My NaNoWriMo 2015 Experience

NaNoWriMo Results 2015

Hi, Kind Friends! Today I’ve got a fun video to share with you covering my recent experience this past November. As you may know, this is my second year participating in National Novel Writing Month. AKA, NaNoWriMo.

Last year I wrote a heck of a lot, making it to 35,000 words. This year I did even better, beating the challenge at 50,023 words. I’ll admit, I didn’t write all of those words on my novel. I also write a very long 20 chapter fanfiction. Yup, #NoShame though. I love fanfiction and writing one this month actually helped me learn how to better organize my outlines and finish a full first draft. In my 5 Tips For: New Writers post I recommend trying absolutely every kind of writing style possible because it really helps your skills grow and I know this month has helped me with that tremendously.

To help me remember this fun experience, I’ve recorded small clips from most of the days in November and strung them together here:

I still have a long way to go, especially since I’ve only written poems up until August for my novel told in verse, and I have a lot of editing to do for my fanfiction, but I’m really excited to keep working on my writing in December.

Would you ever try NaNoWriMo? Or CampNaNo

I love how inspiring the NaNoWriMo community is and I really look forward to participating again next year.
