With a lot to do and little time to do it, I’m taking a break to share a quick blog post on 5 principles and beliefs that inspire me without fail. Because honestly, we all need that every now and again.
1. Your Vibe Attracts Your Tribe
Believing that what I put out into the universe comes back to me, in the form of opportunities and guiding friendships, makes my world go ’round. I’ll never be the person that thinks evil prevails over good and that people are inherently bad, so don’t bother trying to convince me. I’m going to keep working hard and being nice.
2. Daily Efforts Create Lasting Change
If I work on my book every day, it’ll come into reality. Whether I write 20 words or 1,000 each day, the result is the same! Progress is progress and that’s going to get me there. This goes for health too, so please do drink that extra glass of water. It’ll help.
3. A Grateful Heart is a Great Start
No matter what I have in my bank account, whether it be -$100 (been there) or $10K (goodbye life savings, hello down payment) – thinking about what little things I was grateful for every day made me happier than anything else. When I saw the good in every day, suddenly every day became good. Today I’m grateful I spent ten minutes to write this. My blog is my happy space. Hi! Happy to have you here.
4. Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained
If your life is the same thing every day, and it doesn’t make you happy, then why do the same thing every day? Take that leap you’ve been thinking about. A little every day (#2) and some happy thoughts (#1 and #3) will make your dreams a reality. If life were easy, we wouldn’t have a world of unhappy people. You don’t want to regret that risk you never took.
5. Build Your Character
Whether it be by reading daily, learning new tasks, or taking on shitty challenges that you don’t want to do (but know you have to), do what needs to be done. The worst years of my life are what I call my “character years.” They helped make me a gladiator. They brought me to where I am now and will help guide me to where I need to be. Don’t complain about what you have to do, just do it with a purpose. Learn from everything and you’ll be in a pretty good place.
So there you have it, my 5 defining principles. Will you make them yours?
