-Blog Questions-

Q: How long have you been blogging and video blogging?

Since 2010!

Q: How did you create your blog?

I was originally using Blogger but now I am on WordPress. I switched from Blogger to WordPress by myself (saving me a lot of money!) by buying and following this amazing book. WordPress does often have to do with codes, plugins, and some other complicated things every now and again so I get the help of Krystyn from Krizzy Designs and Really, Are You Serious? to help me when I run into snags. I strongly recommend her!

Q: What do you think is better is the best blogging platform?

The most user friendly for newbies would be Blogger or Tumblr (with the right design, Tumblr can be a very professional looking platform) but I personally think it is worth it to work on Wordpress. The features are amazing, it just takes a long time to get used to it. If you are on Blogger and want to switch to WordPress, it is really hard to do. You either have to hire someone to do it for you (which costs up to a few hundred dollars) or you can do it yourself (set aside a week or long weekend to work on just this task) by following the steps outlined in this book. I can’t recommend it enough! You save a lot of money and have more control, which I like.

Q: Who designed your blog?

The header and a few other attributes are from KV Confessions. The actual layout and code work on my blog was done by Krystyn from Really, Are You Serious? (her design site: Krizzy Designs). Occasionally I run into code errors and I am not to most skilled with the “behind-the-scenes” type issues so Krystyn helps me with those as well.

Q: Where do you host your blog on WordPress?

I use Bluehost.

Q: What camera do you use to video blog?

I use the Cannon Powershot ELPH.

Q: What do you edit your videos with?

I use Final Cut Pro and I use the iMovie application when editing on my phone.

Q: How often can I expect videos and blog posts?

At least once a week!

-Sponsored Posts-

Q: Do you accept sponsored posts?

I’ve actually spent thousands of dollars on hosting, designs, and equipment for this blog since I started it in 2010 and I take my work on this blog very seriously. So yes, I do accept monetary compensation for my opinions, in fact it is the only way to guarantee that I will talk about your product. However, I will not change my opinion for money.

Q: Can I send you a product to review without paying you?

Yes you most certainly can send me products to try (I’d love it!) but I cannot guarantee that I will talk about the product on my blog or YouTube channel unless it is a sponsored post. I have a very specific editorial calendar set so I don’t always have room to share a product I’ve been sent, even if I like it. I do often share products on social media even if I don’t blog about them, but sponsoring a post is the best way to guarantee placement.

Q: How can I contact you?

Check out my Media Kit for collaboration packages and contact information.

Let me know any other questions you may have and I’ll add them to this list!
